Welcome to… Nail Polish Because Science! When the worlds of nail polish and science merge, the result is nerdy and neat, magical and microscopic! Strange as it may sound, when microscopic cells are stained so they can be examined, the results can often be very beautiful to look at. Inspired by a unique look at a very small world, this entire category is populated by science related nail polishes that were either created or co-created by our very own polish community scientists and laboratorians who wanted to wear their favorite cells on their nails whenever possible. Ranging from blood cells to bacteria to your own cells to urine crystals, these polishes are guaranteed to make you feel sassy AND science-y!

Stump the Surgeon - This is a pastel crimson jelly (a jelly is meant to be sheer and "gummy" looking when dry) that is sprinkled with mulit-sized purple and lavender glitter.  There is a dash of copper chrome flakie scattered throughout.  Polish is swatched with two coats, and shows a slight visible nail line of the free edge. Three coats would build to opacity or it can be worn over a deeper red/pink color to accent the purple and copper "cells."

Please note, because each of these polishes contain multi-sized glitters, some settling is normal. Always roll the bottle gently, or for larger sized glitter, you may lay the bottle on it's side for a few minutes before use.  For optimal application, allow the first thin coat of glitter polish to dry slightly and roll the bottle again in between coats.   Please see the custom polish listing if you have an idea for another beautiful bacteria polish to add to the line-up!   If this polish says it's back ordered at check-out, that means we need to mix a new batch. Please allow an extra 5-7 days for your package to arrive.  Normal turn around times are 2-3 business days.
Joy Lacquer nail color is made from a 5-free suspension base.  That means it contains no Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin and Camphor.  These ingredients are often found in mainstream nail polishes that you would find in the store.  Polish is mixed by hand in small batches, so slight batch variation may occur.  As in any handmade product, some separation can be normal. Always roll the bottle gently before use.  For optimal application, a base coat and quick dry top coat is recommended.  Joy Lacquer's full size bottles are max filled at 13 mls. and contain a wide flat brush for a nice, smooth application.
